Advanced research in flat glass
A notable example of Valras' involvement in the development of technical knowledge is co-authored, together with the National Institute of Glass, of a landmark government study:
"UV-VIS and IR-energetic spectrophotometric study for special flat glasses used in building equipment"
This study analyzes the optical and energy properties of glass used in construction, providing essential data for improving the energy efficiency of buildings and for the correct selection of glazing materials. Standardization and regulation at national and European level
Chairmanship of the Technical Standardization Committee CT 122 "FLAT GLASS" within ASRO
Valras plays an active role in the development of technical standards by chairing the Technical Standardization Committee CT 122 "Flat Glass", within ASRO (the Romanian Standardization Association). In this framework, essential decisions are taken regarding the adoption and translation of European standards applicable in Romania, but also the proposal of specific standards that regulate the profile market both at the national level and throughout the European Union.
Presidency of the "GLASS" Technical Commission within the PPTT
Within The Patronage of Heat-Insulating Carpentry Manufacturers (PPTT), Valras owns chairmanship of the "Glass" Technical Commission, contributing to the adoption of essential norms for the profile industry. A successful example is the collaboration with FFPV (French Federation of Glass) for the implementation in Romania of the normative "Criteria for assessing the appearance of insulating windows". This document defines the quality parameters and technical requirements for insulating glass, contributing to the improvement of production standards and quality assessment.
